Imagine you've come across a new prospect who you think will be a perfect fit for your product/ service.
You can’t wait for the opportunity to pitch your product to them. You are convinced that if you get 15 minutes with that prospect, you can make it rain.
What do you do next? How do you go about contacting the prospect?
Email is still the best way to contact someone. According to a study, the average person checks their inbox 15 times a day.
All you need to do is get hold of their email address.
Back in the day, this was not an easy task. If you had a lot of free time on your hands, then you could adopt one of the techniques listed below
- Google: Just like you would search for anything else in Google, fill the search bar with the right combination of keywords to find the result. For example, [Name] + [Location] or [Name] + [Company Name] or [Name] + [Company Website URL] and so on.
- LinkedIn: Being the central hub for professionals, it was a salesperson's best bet to find email addresses. Send a connection request their way and once they have accepted it, you can get their email address from their Contact and Personal Info section.
- Twitter: Using Twitter's Advanced Search feature, search for (at) (dot) and enter your prospect’s twitter handle under the People section. Your search will reveal any tweets that contain an email address from your prospect’s profile.
- Email Permutator Hack: Use Email Permutator+ to get possible combinations of email addresses and use tools like MailTester, Email Checker or proofy to find the correct combination.
But this is 2018. And if you are still using one of these outdated techniques to find email addresses manually, it is time to add some cool new tools to your prospecting game.
